Eminem is no stranger to courtroom proceedings, so he feels somewhat at home in his latest legal development. Or rather, his legal team feels at home.
While the Detroit rapper was not physically present during the proceedings, his legal team was in attendance for a trial stemming from a prior lawsuit. New Zealand’s National Party released a deliberate rip-off of his hit song “Lose Yourself” in a publicity commercial that was released back in 2014.
The trial officially kicked off this week, and there is courtroom footage of the two songs being played on a loop. The painstakingly long video essentially proves the validity of the lawsuit and all but ensures a victory for the real Slim Shady.
The trial is set to last another five days, and while we’re no legal counsel, but if Eminem doesn’t win this case we may Just Lose It.
