About The Big Teddy Bear

The Big Teddy Bear is a Fayetteville native and graduate of E.E. Smith High School.

At 17, while in high school, The Big Teddy Bear attended an internship at Fayetteville State University’s 89.1 WFSS.

After acquiring his FCC Communication license for On-Air work, The Big Teddy Bear maintained a permanent air shift on Saturday mornings along with all duties of starting a radio station's day of operations.

The Big Teddy Bear then made a name for himself in the early 90's after DJ’ing at popular Clubs like Club Flava and Images with the help of DJ pioneer and icon: EJ the DJ.  It was after this that he began his first chapter in commercial radio at WZFX 99.1FM The Fox as Mix Show DJ for "The Fox Rocks" Saturday nights.

During this progress, He also learned the ropes of copywriting and radio production. In 2000, he joined WCCG to help launch HOT 104.5 FM as Music Director, Production Director and even held down Mornings, Evening and Mix Show Slots at various times.

However in 2003, The Big Teddy Bear returned to WZFX 99.1 FM as a Mix Show DJ. That Mix Show is now called ‘The Ten O'clock Blackout". The Big Teddy Bear has since continued on with radio success from Music Director, Imaging Director and Assistant Program Director.

Yet, with all those responsibilities, he also holds down ‘The Midday Party Mix’ at Noon with Jane Dough, Tuesday through Friday, ‘The Five O'Clock Take Ova, Monday through Friday as well as his own shift on Sunday's ‘Rock Solid Sundays.
