An Oklahoma woman was recently shot by a yellow labrador puppy after it got spooked.
Per People, Tina Springer and Brent Parks, were in a car waiting for a train when their dog, Molly, got scared of the train noises. Molly got spooked, jumped onto the vehicle’s folding center console, which had Park’s handgun underneath, and the pressure of the dog caused the gun to go off.
Springer had to undergo emergency surgery for her leg injury but is expected to make a full recovery. Parks told authorities that the weapon isn’t usually loaded when he carries it around.
During the investigation, police also discovered that cloth from the seat cover might have factored into the gun discharging after It got into its trigger well.
Since the accident, Molly is back home safely with her owner.
